Halls of Amenti — Atmospheric Installation

Halls of Amenti is an indoor atrium–scale atmospheric installation integrating American Bakhoor, controlled airflow, water elements, and living foliage within a guided spatial pathway. The work unfolds through movement and breath, with distinct aromatic zones intersecting and transitioning as visitors move through the space.
 
Rather than functioning from a single vantage point, the installation is experienced sequentially. Certain locations invite pause and sustained inhalation, while others encourage forward motion and release. Wind carries scent across thresholds, water modulates acoustic and physiological response, and foliage anchors the experience in elemental presence.
 
The work operates as a sensory literacy environment, using atmosphere as a narrative medium. By shaping pace, breath, and bodily orientation, the installation reframes the atrium as a site of restoration and embodied awareness, supporting reconnection between the human nervous system and elemental forces.
